This year, we’ve included one-a-of-kind events to make Coral Gables Restaurant Week bigger and better than ever. In addition to our signature launch event, Taste of the Gables, 6 of your favorite restaurants will be hosting unique, in-house ticketed events, and there’s something for everyone. Kick-off Restaurant Week with Taste of the Gables!
Where: The Westin Colonnade Hotel, 180 Aragon Ave
When: Thursday, June 5th, at 6:30 pm
Details: Taste samples from 20 restaurants participating in Coral Gables Restaurant Week and vote for your favorite “Taste” dish.

The Art of Gnocchi at Cibo Wine Bar
Where: Cibo Wine Bar, 45 Miracle Mile
When: Wednesday, June 11th at 7pm
Details: Pull on a custom Cibo apron and learn the art of making traditional Gnocchi with Executive Chef Massimo Giannattasio. Shared appetizers and wine will served before demonstration/ class begins. After the demonstration is complete, your homemade gnocchi will be cooked to perfection in your sauce of choice, and served to share for you and other participants along with a few Chef selected menu items.

Sake in the City at Red Koi
Where: Red Koi, 317 Miracle Mile
When: Wednesday, June 11th at 7pm
Details: Join Red Koi in mastering the art of Sake! Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious sushi samples along with special sake pairings as they learn the history and origins of sake. Red Koi’s in-house mixologist and Hiro Sake connoisseur will teach the different ways sake can be mixed into innovative cocktails. Guests will then create two of their very own cocktails, while they enjoy three of Red Koi’s signature rolls. As an added bonus Hiro Sake will also be raffling two bottles of their premium Sake for participating guests at the end of the night.

Interactive Cooking Class at Ortanique
Where: Ortanique on the Mile, 278 Miracle Mile
When: Saturday, June 14th at 11:30 am
Details: Ortanique is hosting a special interactive cooking class in conjunction with Coral Gables Restaurant Week. Join them for a Mexican iron chef-off with guest judges Cindy and Delius. Menu items will feature Mexican tortilla soup with crunchy corn tortilla strips, lime and cilantro as the appetizer, fire roasted salsa verde on queso blanco and stuffed chicken roulade as the main course, and coconut pineapple mango cookies for dessert.
Guests will be teamed up in groups of 8 with a chef from the kitchen at each table to guide them through their lesson. Each table elects a head chef to present each course and the sous chefs at the table assist in the prep and plating to give the Judges. Chef Cindy and Delius will judge each table on taste, presentation, time and cleanliness, and the winning table of the Iron Chef battle will receive a bottle of wine as their prize. Each course will be complimented with champagne or wine.

Flights & Flatbreads at Seasons 52
Where: Seasons 52, 321 Miracle Mile
When: Monday, June 16th at 6pm
Details: For all the wine-enthusiasts, Seasons 52 is putting their twist on happy hour with a special Flights & Flatbreads. Join them in their private room where a sommelier will guide you on their selection of fine wines, and the art of the grape, and what to pair each one best with. Once you choose your favorite wine, enjoy a full glass and their signature flatbreads.

A Taste of Spain at La Taberna Giralda
Where: La Taberna Giralda, 254 Giralda Avenue
When: Wednesday, June 18th at 8pm
Details: Transport yourself to Espana at La Taberna Giralda with a special five-course dinner, perfectly paired with 5 fine Spanish wines to complement each course. The menu consists of Spanish toast with peppers and anchovies, creamy black rice with calamari and cuttle fish, pork loin with rosemary, caramelized onions and manchego cheese sauce, boneless lamb breast in a rich wine sauce, and crema Catalana.

Sushi & Sake 101 at SUSHISAMBA
Where: SUSHISAMBA, 180 Aragon Avenue
When: Tuesday, June 24th at 7pm
Details: SUSHISAMBA will host their final Sushi & Sake 101 for the year in conjunction with Coral Gables Restaurant Week—a fun way to unwind on a Tuesday! The two-hour interactive class introduces guests to the history of sake and the art of sushi making. The class consists of a two-part educational experience.
The sake portion is led by SUSHISAMBA’s sake sommelier and includes five tasting flights with an introduction to the sake, its common myths, pairing tips and more. Participants will not leave hungry and should bring their appetites! Throughout the class, they will enjoy a selection of SUSHISAMBA’s signature dishes, a variety of sushi rolls, edamame, tempura and sashimi.
In the second part of the class, participants will gain insider sushi-making tips from SUSHISAMBA Coral Gables’ Executive Sushi Chef Yasuo Tujimori, including a demonstration on the selection and preparation of raw fish. But that’s not all – the class will conclude with all participants creating, and enjoying, sushi rolls of their choice! The students will leave the class with an informative take-away booklet designed to help apply their knowledge at home, plus gift bags including special samba swag such as CDs, drink tickets, and branded soccer balls (perfect for World Cup!).

Fusion, Food & Funk at Open Stage Club
